Celebrating Community and Compassion at the GMIA Walk Up

Tranquility Property Management had the pleasure of participating in one of our favorite local traditions—the Grossmont Mt. Helix Improvement Association’s (GMIA) annual Walk Up to Mt. Helix. This beloved event brought together neighbors, friends, and furry companions for a scenic stroll to the summit of Mt. Helix, all in the spirit of community and support for some incredible organizations.

Starting at the fire station lot on Vivera Drive in La Mesa, the morning was filled with camaraderie as walkers of all ages gathered to enjoy the fresh air and stunning views. But this year’s event was extra special, as it also marked the inauguration of Mt. Helix’s new mayor—Addie!

Welcoming Mayor Addie

The mayoral race leading up to this event was nothing short of heartwarming. As you might remember from our blog about the Mayor of Mt. Helix 2024 campaign, the mayoral competition is more than a fun community initiative—it’s a charitable effort to raise funds for causes close to our hearts.

Mayor Addie, who captured the community's support with her charm and dedication, officially took on her new role at the summit. After her inauguration, Addie embraced her mayoral duties by spreading the word about The Animal Pad, a local nonprofit dedicated to rescuing dogs in need and finding them loving homes.

In her first (and only!) official act as mayor, Addie introduced the “Ultimino Act,” a playful nod to her vision of unity and kindness within the community. Her enthusiastic participation and commitment to giving back made her the perfect choice to lead Mt. Helix into a year of compassion and connection.

Supporting Meaningful Causes

The GMIA Walk Up and mayoral competition are more than fun community events; they’re opportunities to support organizations making a real difference. This year, funds raised benefited The Animal Pad, whose mission aligns closely with the values of love and community that Mt. Helix embodies.

At Tranquility Property Management, we’re honored to take part in events like these that celebrate the spirit of Mt. Helix while also giving back to the organizations that help make our community a better place.

Looking Ahead

As we reflect on the walk, the joyous inauguration of Mayor Addie, and the incredible work of GMIA and The Animal Pad, we’re reminded of the importance of coming together as a community. Whether it’s through events, charitable efforts, or simply supporting one another, these moments strengthen the bond we share as neighbors and friends.

We can’t wait to see what’s next for Mayor Addie and the Mt. Helix community, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s walk!

Until then, thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and helped make this event a success. Together, we’re making Mt. Helix a place where people and pets alike can thrive.
